Women’s Ministry Event:

Women’s Ministry Gathering: Devotional Book Event and Soup Making.

Saturday, Jan. 26, 9:30-11:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

Whatever season you’re in now, you are invited to join us on this morning. We’ll focus on how God sustains us through our journey as Alice Wisler shares from her new book, Getting Out of Bed in the Morning: Reflections of Comfort in Grief. Written in devotional format, the book is a companion for those going through sorrow associated with loss—whether brought to the journey through the death of a loved one, failing health, job loss, broken relationships, or weakened family ties. Books are $14 and will be for sale at the event. All are welcome; bring a friend or two. Childcare is available from 9:15-11:45 a.m.

In addition, we’ll participate in a group cooking project—making Ray Wilkins’ ultimate comfort food, Minestrone Soup!  We could call this event, “Minestrone Soup for the Soul “ (sorry). When you come, bring a component of the soup based on your last name and during the program, our chefs will make the soup.  If your last name is:

  • A-D, bring carrots or celery
  •  E-H bring canned diced tomatoes
  •  I-P bring canned navy beans or kidney beans,
  •  Q-Z bring zucchini or elbow macaroni
  • We’ll have a tasting, then save soup in the church freezer for us to take to people who need it. Soup will magically appear by the end of Alice’s program.

Small Group Ministry

In the Blacknall community, small groups are a rich means for forming relationships and encouraging one another in walking with the Lord.  In addition to small groups in the weekly Bible studies, there are several other women’s groups with a variety of components which may include following the sermon series or focusing on prayer/accountability.  To find out more, contact our small group ministry team at
